We're Pregnant! First Trimester Recap
Baby Yiengst is due September 2021
Our Pregnancy Story -
We found out we were pregnant really early. Full disclosure - we were trying, so it wasn't like it was completely unexpected. I took my first test that came back positive at 10 DPO (days past ovulation) and 4 days before my missed period. I was so nervous to even take it, but Zach encouraged me to do it so we would just know. And then - whabam - two little pink lines appeared before our eyes.
The day we found out I had so much nervous energy and was so excited, but I didn't want to tell anyone just yet. So, I went to Target and bought some onesies. It felt like the most appropriate outlet for my overwhelming emotions at the time.
Over the next few days, I took about 80 more pregnancy tests because it was so surreal to me. I bought one of those packs of 100 pregnancy test strips from amazon and they're relatively cheap so, I had no qualms about using a lot of them.
I feel a little guilty because, while my first trimester was definitely not a walk in the park, it wasn't nearly as terrible as I've heard other women describe. Fatigue was my first symptom. It's actually how I suspected I might be pregnant in the first place. I was ready for bed by 7:30 pm most nights. My nausea started kicking in around 5.5 weeks. Although I was able to make it out of the first tri without ever actually "losing my lunch", I felt close to doing so waaay more times than I would've liked to. Luckily, I have some great friends and family that gave me advice on what works and what to avoid so I made it through those difficult weeks.
Zach got me a first trimester Bump Box and that was, not only the sweetest, but also so incredibly helpful. It had those cute stickers you can use to track your bump pictures by week (which I have been doing and will likely share on IG!). I've also got to give major props to Preggie Pop drops, I think I went through the entire container of those in like 3 weeks - highly recommend.
For now, I just wanted to finally spill the beans and let you in on what has been our little secret for the past few months. I am so excited and I will definitely continue to share what this journey has been and will be like for us. If you have any questions, I'm happy to answer them, but first, let me just eat some dry toast.
