Danielle & Ryan’s Celebration at Synclaire Events

Housed in a former piano factory, Synclaire Events in Fargo, North Dakota, carries an atmosphere that’s rich with beautiful architectural details and a sense of history in every corner. For Danielle & Ryan, that setting was the perfect match for a wedding vision inspired by the rich, moody feel of a classic cigar lounge: deep greens and warm browns, layered with ivory for balance and polish.

The result was a wedding that felt modern in its confidence but classic in its restraint — and it started with the letterpress invitation suite that introduced guests to that world before they ever stepped through the door.

The Inspiration

Danielle & Ryan wanted their wedding to feel like stepping into a well-worn, well-loved room — the kind of warmth you’d find in a vintage lounge, with leather, brass, and rich color rather than anything soft or pastel. That cigar lounge inspiration shaped every material and color choice in the invitation suite, from the paper stock to the ink.

The Invitation Suite

We designed a suite featuring a letterpressed invitation in deep fennel green and a warm brown details card diecut oval, giving the whole design a tactile, old-world quality that matched the venue’s history.

Color and Typography

The palette of green, brown, and ivory was carried through every layer of the suite, from the outer envelope to the reply card, while the typography leaned modern: clean, confident lettering paired with just enough classic structure to keep the whole suite feeling timeless rather than trend-driven. The details card featured a hand-drawn pattern inspired by the gorgeous architectural details of the Synclaire. It was this pairing of contemporary type with traditional printing and rich, moody color that captured Danielle & Ryan’s “modern classic” vision.
